There is no need to hike to Madison Square Garden for that huge birthday sing along. We will have our own community celebration of the life and energy of America's foremost song leader, Pete Seeger.

Wheatland Music Festival

September 11-13, 2009
Remus, Michigan

The Wheatland Music Festival takes place in Remus, MI the weekend after Labor Day. 16,000 folks Wheatland Music Festivalcamp on 160 acres and listen to 3 stages of music, attend workshops, watch their kids play on Kids' Hill, catch up with friends, eat fabulous food, and have a great time!

To avoid camping, yet to attend the Festival, many music lovers buy a $20. Sunday (only) day pass at the gate. The Gospel Sing starts around 10 am, so before singing, there is plenty of time to drive to Remus (20 m. west of Mt. Pleasant) and have a great breakfast and a second cup of good coffee at either the Happy Farmer Co-op or the CACC.

At noon, Sunday, Sept. 13, I'll be leading an hour of songs "under the pines". The annual song circle, (which has grown every year - the word is out about this singing stuff...,) is in a gorgeous setting, nestled among tall, sturdy pine trees, in the middle of Wheatland's Workshop Lane. (Benches are available for those who need to sit.) We sing familiar songs (no song sheets) so folks can sing out and share their voice with their neighbors, the pines, the trees and the sky. It is a powerful sound. If you have never been to Wheatland, here's a reason to attend! www.wheatlandmusic.org
